VEGAS AIMS FOR DIAMONDS ONE MORE TIME AT "HERO'S CELEBRATION"

There are a select few performers in American Championship Entertainment that have been in the company as long as it has existed in the game of professional wrestling.

Rob Vegas is one of those men.

He is a multiple time ACE Tag Team Champion. He is a former ACE Heavyweight Champion. A co-winner of the 2017 Mike Morgan Jr. Memorial Tournament alongside his friend and partner Mike Donovan.

However, he is best known for his run as a two-time ACE Diamond Division Champion.

“The Chessmaster” initially won his first Diamond Division championship back in 2010 at Crossroads XI on June 12, 2010 at the ACE Arena in Union City, NJ. After an extended period of trying to rediscover himself as a singles competitor following a long run in a tag team, Vegas joined up with Mike Morgan and the ACES, becoming the ACE of Diamonds.

Once he defeated Bruno Marciano via nefarious tactics, Vegas had a solid four-month reign, defeating Benny Martinez from Long Island and ACE legend Mo Sexton. Sadly, he fell victim to the relentless attack of “the King of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston at Night of 3Somes on October 16, 2010 and lost his gold.

Many people claimed that Vegas’ arrogance cost him an even longer reign as titleholder. I mean, he had special gear made with a Diamond Division Championship sewed into it. A false sense of security was obviously on display there.

Almost five years later, at ACE’s Success Is Your Victory at the rechristened Morgan Jr. Arena on May 9, 2015, Vegas, settled down and more matured as a performer, regained his championship from “the Puerto Rican Powerhouse” Astro Morales.

His championship reign this time around was TOP NOTCH. Every single match he had was absolutely fantastic and show-stealing. Ricky Reyes, Absolute Alvin, former TNA World Champion Eric Young, and Joey Adams all fell victim to the Checkmate Cloverleaf.

However, “the Chessmaster” was caught off-guard by Anthony “FNB” Ramirez cashing in his “Chance of a Lifetime” Rumble title opportunity immediately after his match with Adams. Within moments, FNB pinned Vegas and won the title.

Close to a decade later, Rob now has a golden opportunity to finally win a trifecta and win the Diamond Division Championship at Hero’s Celebration on March 29, 2025 at the Teaneck Knights of Columbus in Teaneck, NJ. His opponent is the double-tough Michael Mistretta.

And you can’t discredit “Nobody Betta Than” Mistretta one iota in between the ropes. A three-time former NYWC Heavyweight Champion and a former ACE Fight For Flight Champion, Mistretta has proven that he can take a beating and dish one out. In the midst of his first reign as Diamond Division Champion, he defeated men like ACE legend Kaide Lothbrok, “Fancy” Ryan Clancy, and Azrieal. Those three are absolute menaces at the peak of their powers in the world of independent wrestling.

Can Mistretta prove that nobody is still better than him as Diamond Division Champion? Or will “the Chessmaster” provide one more Checkmate and win himself a third Diamond Title?

Be there at Hero’s Celebration. Throw your diamonds in the sky for this Diamond Division Championship match.
