On April 26, 2025, at PretzelMania VII in Morgantown, NJ, the unthinkable happened.
Mr. Ooh La La turned his back on the entire ECWA.
Following L.A. Vin retaining, and subsequently retrieving, his ECWA Heavyweight Championship against the Russian Assassin, including a TKO onto scattered pretzel particles, the Assassin and King Reginald, the leader of the Kingdom of Reggie, jumped Vin from behind with a Pearl Harbor job.
When it seemed all hope was lost, Mr. Ooh La La ran down to the ring to make the save, causing Reginald and the Assassin to vacate the ring. It looked as if the ECWA Heavyweight Champion finally had someone to take on the vile rulebreakers.
Suddenly, in one sudden moment, Ooh La La kicked L.A. Vin in the gut and delivered a vicious Whippersnapper. The fans in Morgantown were genuinely stunned, especially the children, who revered the independent wrestling legend.
The ECWA icon then picked up the Heavyweight Championship, eyed it for a moment, and then tossed it onto the prone and lifeless Vin. He then left the ring and embraced King Reginald. The Kingdom of Reggie had grown stronger.
To many of the younger ECWA faithful, you have no idea what you’re in for.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Mr. Ooh La La was the biggest villain in the world of the ECWA. Along with his friends Mozart Fontaine, the Japanese Pool Boy, Ruffhouse Rivera, and the Persian Prince, Ooh La La came within an eyelash of controlling the entire promotion several times. He even had manipulated then-WWF announcer Kevin Kelly, who was a former ECWA Heavyweight Champion.
However, as the years passed, Ooh La La had softened and had become a beloved ECWA hero to many, including the wrestlers in the locker room. We thought his reign of terror was over…until this past Saturday.
With Mr. Ooh La La now working alongside King Reginald and his Russian Assassin, what is not only in store for L.A. Vin, but for the entire promotion?
Bienvenue dans la nouvelle ère de Mr. Ooh La La.
